One of the greatest successes of the 2025 summer transfer window so far has been Myles Lewis-Skelly committing his future to Arsenal.

It was always expected that the teenager would sign a new deal with the Gunners, the club he supports and the club he’s represented since he was nine.

That being said, there was a brief moment of concern, as Lewis-Skelly was linked to Real Madrid, transfer speculation that quickly died down. 

Mikel Arteta hasn’t looked back since giving the Arsenal academy graduate a platform to impress, with the 18-year-old a firm starter at the Emirates.

Myles Lewis-Skelly is one of the world’s most valuable left-backs

It’s not only for his club that the teen has impressed, as Lewis-Skelly scored on his England debut, collecting three caps over the 2024/25 campaign. 

What is arguably the most surprising thing about the Hale End project’s rise is the position he is playing, utilised at left-back by Arteta, but a central midfielder by trade.

Interestingly, before his first team debut, Jack Wilshere doubted that Lewis-Skelly would be a left-back, but acknowledged that the rising star had what it took to thrive in the inverted role.

Not only has the Englishman made the left-back role his own at Arsenal and for England, but he’s made a name for himself as one of the most valuable players in the position in the world.

Transfermarkt data lists Lewis-Skelly as the sixth-most valuable left-back in world football, with a market value level with new Liverpool signing, Milos Kerkez. 

Out of the top ten, the Arsenal powerhouse is the youngest to boast a sizeable market value, which is even more remarkable given that he’s not even played a year in the role yet.

Stan Kroenke will be delighted by Lewis-Skelly’s rise

It’s not only Arteta who is benefiting from Lewis-Skelly’s development, but Arsenal’s owners too. 

Stan Kroenke will be licking his lips at how high the 18-year-old’s market value already is, a figure that was bolstered by him penning a new deal. 

After just one season in the first team, the teenager has taken world football by storm, with his value only set to increase if his form continues.

It’s important to remember that Lewis-Skelly is a product of Arsenal’s academy, meaning that if the defender were to ever be sold, he’d hand the Gunners pure profit.
