Viktor Gyokeres could learn a lot of lessons from Gabriel Magalhaes at Arsenal as transfer talks advance.
Mikel Arteta wants to sign Gyokeres before pre-season begins, with the 27-year-old in line to become the striker Arsenal have been longing for.
Having netted 54 goals over the 2024/25 season for Sporting CP, the Gunners’ interest in the Swede needs little explanation.
To make the situation all the more exciting, Gyokeres is eager to leave Sporting for Arsenal this summer, giving sporting director Andrea Berta a job to do to close the deal promptly.

Gabriel Magalhaes needs to give Viktor Gyokeres set-piece advice
So many things were clear at Arsenal last season, both positive and negative.
Gyokeres can solve the overriding negative of having limited threat in the number nine role, but can the Sweden international contribute to the club’s biggest positive trait?
Arsenal were known as the set-piece kings last season, with Nicolas Jover excelling at his job so much that Arteta’s tactics were compared to Tony Pulis’ at Stoke City.
Being a player who has scored 97 goals over the previous two seasons for his club, there’s little worry when it comes to Gyokeres finding the net, but he certainly needs to improve if he’s to suit Arsenal.

| 0 headed goals |

| 0 corner goals |
Last season in the Portuguese top flight, Gyokeres failed to score a single header, taking 17 headed shots on goal and converting zero.
The striker might be eager to sit down and learn a lesson or two from Gabriel Magalhaes at Arsenal, as from corners, the Swede failed to score in six attempts.
Gabriel, on the other hand, simply couldn’t stop scoring in the early stages of the season, netting three headed goals from corners in the Premier League.
The centre-back’s guidance could take Gyokeres to an even higher level in front of goal, a statement that might not have ever been said.

Gyokeres and Gabriel need to discuss celebration row
Scoring from corners isn’t the only thing that the pair could discuss in North London, as in last season’s Champions League, Gabriel infamously stole Gyokeres’ celebration.
The Brazilian scored against Sporting from a corner and mimicked the striker’s famed celebration, something that amused some and left others fuming.
Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg had an odd view of Gabriel copying Gyokeres, slamming the centre-back for acting in a ‘disrespectful’ manner.
Gyokeres actually responded to his celebration being copied, describing the defender’s actions as ‘fun’ while taking a cheeky swipe at his lack of authenticity.
It’s all fun and games between the two players, who will be eager to learn from each other at the Emirates, Gabriel with celebrations and Gyokeres with corner goals.
