John Terry was really worried about Arsenal before the Gunners’ 2-2 draw against Sunderland.
For the first time since September, Arsenal conceded a goal, as Sunderland scored twice to bring the clean sheet record to an end.
Arsenal academy product Dan Ballard opened the scoring for Sunderland to see the Gunners concede for only the fourth time in the Premier League season.
The hosts added to Arsenal’s tally by scoring an equaliser in stoppage time, as rivals tuned in to realise that Arteta’s back four can indeed be beaten.

John Terry will be so relieved that Arsenal conceded two goals against Sunderland
Before the contest, there was so much talk about Arsenal’s incredible clean sheet record.
Conceding twice and drawing wasn’t the end of the world, but given the standards that Arteta has implemented, the result felt like a defeat.
After winning ten consecutive games in all competitions, Arsenal’s defensive machine was slain by the Black Cats, and it wasn’t just Sunderland fans who would’ve been delighted.
Earlier in the week, John Terry expressed his concern that Arsenal could break Chelsea’s defensive record of 2004/05.
“I have to say, I’m actually a little bit worried now,” Terry said of Arsenal’s defence on TikTok.
“I’m looking at their fixtures on a weekly basis, seeing where they’re going to potentially concede goals.
“I have to say, I have to give them credit; they look very good at the moment. I still think it’s going to be too much to beat our record, but, being honest, I’m a little nervous.”
Terry was nervous before the game, but once Craig Pawson blew the full-time whistle, the Chelsea icon’s outlook would’ve undoubtedly changed.
The Englishman wasn’t the only Chelsea legend to be nervous about Arsenal’s defensive record, but after the draw with Sunderland, the incredible feat seems to be out of reach.
Arsenal now need to concede nine or fewer goals in the remaining 27 Premier League games to break Chelsea’s record, and a maximum of ten to match the record.
Mikel Arteta’s reaction to Arsenal’s clean sheet record ending says it all
When a draw against a side sitting in the top four feels like a defeat, you know you’re doing something right.
Arsenal will, however, naturally feel deflated from the draw, not just because of the dropped points but because the clean sheet record vanished.

Arteta epitomised the standards within the Arsenal squad by describing how he felt when Ballard scored Sunderland’s opener.
“A pain in my tummy because I don’t want to concede any goals. And it was a goal, obviously, that was putting the game in a difficult position.”
The Arsenal manager couldn’t hide his dissatisfaction as the run of clean sheets came to a close, but it’s not all doom and gloom.
Arsenal will now head into the international break with time to regroup before the action resumes in November, with Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Chelsea awaiting the Gunners.
