Jurgen Klopp could now crush Arsenal’s dream of signing £62.5m striker, Liverpool could benefit

Jurgen Klopp inflicted a lot of pain on Arsenal when he was at Liverpool, and the German could now repeat that in the coming months.

The 57-year-old decided to bring an end to his near-nine-year stay at Anfield at the end of the 2023/24 season. He became an absolute legend of the club and it was a shame to see such a big name leave the Premier League.

Klopp has been enjoying his time away from football, but like everyone who loves the game, he just couldn’t stay away.

The German is back now – not as a manager but in a behind-the-scenes role at Red Bull. His presence there could cause Arsenal one big problem.

How Jurgen Klopp could crush Arsenal’s Benjamin Sesko dream

Red Bull have announced that Klopp is their new Global Football Director.

This is the German’s first job since leaving Liverpool earlier this summer, and he is scheduled to start on the 1st of January, 2025.

TBR Football revealed recently that Klopp will play a key role in determining what will happen to the future of RB Leipzig’s star striker Benjamin Sesko.

The Slovenian is one of the best forwards of his age in Europe, and he has been linked with a number of clubs over the last few months.

Arsenal tried to sign Sesko in the summer, but he rejected a move to the Emirates and decided to sign a new contract at Leipzig instead.

Mikel Arteta remains interested in Sesko and could make a move to sign him, but Klopp will be the one calling the shots and he could ruin any deal for Arsenal.

Leipzig are desperate to not lose both Sesko and fellow striker Lois Openda. The plan is to allow just one of them to leave the club in 2025.

We think Sesko is more valuable to Leipzig and Klopp might think so too. That could force him to advise the German club to reject any offer from Arsenal for the £62.5 million (BILD) Slovenia international.

Klopp could help Liverpool in what would be a huge blow to Arsenal

Arsenal are not the only club in Europe interested in signing Sesko, there are several others.

TBR Football reveal that Chelsea and Manchester United are long-term admirers, while Manchester City have maintained a watching brief as well. Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona are amongst those looking too.

The Athletic revealed in June this year that Liverpool had also expressed an interest in signing Sesko, but the striker chose to stay at Leipzig instead.

With Darwin Nunez not firing, Liverpool could well go back in for Sesko in 2025, and with Klopp calling the shots, he could advise both Leipzig and the player to choose the Merseyside club.

That would be a huge blow for Arsenal in their pursuit of Sesko.
