Arsenal would’ve preferred to beat Brentford at the Emirates however, full focus is on the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta’s side didn’t suffer a drop in standard against Brentford but more a change in challenge, with the Premier League clash sandwiched between season-defining action.

Arsenal beat Real Madrid 3-0 on Tuesday night and will go to battle with Los Blancos in the Champions League quarter-final second-leg on Wednesday evening.

While the European quarter-final is at the forefront of everything Arsenal, Arteta received some valuable pointers when the Gunners drew 1-1 with Brentford

Jakub Kiwior sent a warning to Real Madrid with Brentford display

The lineup was altered as expected, however, one thing remained the same: Arteta’s combination in central defence.

Jakub Kiwior stayed next to William Saliba in the back four, following on from the Poland international’s five-star showing in place of Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Arsenal squad were in awe of Kiwior after his performance against Real Madrid, and when Brentford arrived to test the centre-back, he sent the Galacticos a stern message.

As seen above, Kiwior warned Kylian Mbappe and the rest of Real Madrid’s front line just how tough the return fixture at the Bernabeu is set to be.

Against the Bees, the 25-year-old wasn’t dribbled past and won every duel he partook in, both in the air and on the ground.

Though Kiwior’s quality has been questioned at times, the Pole left no room for critique against Brentford, doing all he could to maintain balance alongside Saliba.

Kiwior looking to maintain unbeaten record

After Kiwior became a Gunner, Arsenal’s official website shared a quote from Robert Lewandowski about the defender, who called his countryman ‘extraordinary’.

Lewandowski held Kiwior with high regard, which is what Arsenal fans must start to do, putting his mishaps aside to truly appreciate what the centre-back is doing.

In the last 19 games Kiwior has started in, Arsenal haven’t lost once, which is almost as remarkable as the nine clean sheets he’s contributed to in that time.

Real Madrid will be wary of Arsenal’s defensive strength, with Kiwior’s record far from a fluke.

90 minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu stand between Arsenal and the Champions League semi-final, a game that the Poland international is ready to dominate.
