Mikel Arteta could be forced into an Eberechi Eze move that Arsenal fans begged him not to make

Arsenal fans are all looking at Eberechi Eze to save their season.

The England international’s record over the years in the final two months of the campaign is remarkable, and Mikel Arteta desperately needs to get the club out of the hole they have found themselves in.

Arsenal have lost three domestic games on the bounce, and their season is now in the balance. Games against Sporting CP and Manchester City have become incredibly important.

We expect Eze to start both games, but Arteta could be forced to use him in another position.

TRUE or FALSE: Mikel Arteta’s system is holding Eberechi Eze back at Arsenal…

Mikel Arteta could move Eberechi Eze to Arsenal’s left wing

Arteta has a big problem on Arsenal’s left wing, and that has been the case for a while now.

Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have produced great moments over the years, and they have had their successes this season as well.

However, whoever seems to start out of the duo underperforms, and fans are left wishing for the other player to come into the side.

That has become a headache for Arteta, and we think the solution could be to start Eberechi Eze on the left wing instead of Martinelli and Trossard.

The 27-year-old could be given the licence to cut inside and affect the game centrally, and Piero Hincapie can overlap and cause problems in that area.

Eze’s ability to create chances is far better than that of either Martinelli or Trossard as well, which makes him an ideal option, despite his defensive frailties.

Arteta hasn’t used the former Palace star in that role for several months, presumably for that reason, but he could be forced to do it because of how poor his two left wingers have been.

What position suits Eberechi Eze best at Arsenal?

Arsenal fans may have to change their mind about Eberechi Eze on the left wing

Eze’s best position is as an attacking midfielder.

The Englishman’s best performances this season have come from that role, so you would ideally want to play him there.

In fact, when Arsenal first signed him, fans begged Arteta not to use Eze on the left-wing because he is so much better as a number 10.

However, everyone must now admit that Trossard and Martinelli starting on the left is just not working, and the most sensible option right now would be to start Eze there.

If it works, which we think it will, it could be a game-changer for Arsenal in the final weeks of the season.
