Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly could follow the trajectory of one Newcastle star to continue his rise to the very top.
The Hale End Academy star has been a standout performer since making his way into the team, most prominently at left-back.
An impressive display against Manchester City was capped off with his first senior goal, taken in some fine fashion, too.
Arsenal Insider understands England scouts have been watching Lewis-Skelly ahead of the March international break, which could see him handed an opportunity.
Whether that call-up to the international scene follows or not, remains to be seen, though he simply has to keep performing.
Where his future lies exactly in the team is unclear, but Lewis-Skelly could take some notes from one Newcastle star to continue his progression.
Myles Lewis-Skelly could follow Lewis Hall move after Newcastle vs Arsenal
One player that Lewis-Skelly could compete for an England jersey with is Newcastle star Lewis Hall, with the duo coming up against one another recently on the domestic stage.
Both stars have come through as left-backs in senior football, but during their academy days, the duo were touted more as midfielders.
While Lewis-Skelly is still honing his craft in his breakout season, Hall has a few more years of competitive action under his belt.
The Newcastle defender showed his ability and fluidity during Arsenal’s Carabao Cup semi-final defeat at St. James’ Park.
There was uncertainty over the system that Eddie Howe started against the Gunners, with three centre-backs named along with a pair of wing-backs.
The line-up didn’t quite work like that though, as Hall would switch between playing in the backline on the left and moving into midfield.
It was an impressive performance and one that perhaps points to the next evolution of Lewis-Skelly at Arsenal, which is in the midfield.

Mikel Arteta on Myles Lewis-Skelly position
The position of Lewis-Skelly has been up for debate, but Mikel Arteta has already explained why he opted for him to feature at left-back.
Discussing the position move in January, Arteta said: “When I saw him, to give him a chance and with the project that we had in the academy the moment that I saw him, the only way I could think was to change his position.
“I spoke to him and said I think this is where you’re going to have it, because I think it fits a lot of his qualities, the way that we play and it fits because we had necessities in the position, so we started to work on that.
“He got into it straight away with the personality that he has. I think it’s very obvious and now he’s doing it.”
The youngster has looked particularly impressive there, so it seems as though it’s only a matter of time before he is handed an opportunity in midfield.
