Noni Madueke is set to return to action after the international break, after missing the previous 11 Arsenal games due to injury.
The winger’s injury came at a frustrating time, as Madueke was really impressing at Arsenal following his questionable transfer from Chelsea.
Some Arsenal fans didn’t want Madueke to sign, but their opinions have changed dramatically since, as the 23-year-old has shown some terrific form in red and white.
Now that Madueke is set to return to action, Mikel Arteta can begin to plan what the Arsenal squad could look like after the international break, with the wide player expected to have a big role to play.

Noni Madueke can give Arsenal a fresh dimension in attack
Arsenal signed Madueke to compete for minutes on both flanks, with the primary motive behind his transfer being to bolster the limited options on the left.
Though some were sceptical about his arrival, the winger has already proven what he can offer to Arteta, with the numbers showing how much of an impact his return will have.
| # | Player | Successful dribbles per game |
| 1 | Bukayo Saka | 1.9 |
| 2 | Noni Madueke | 1.4 |
| 3 | Eberechi Eze | 1.2 |
As seen above, only Bukayo Saka can out-play Madueke when it comes to effectiveness in one-versus-one situations.
Madueke’s successful dribbles per game average blows both Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli out of the water, with the latter only managing to score an average of 0.1, which is woeful for an out-and-out wide player.
It’s so clear what the 23-year-old can bring to the table, offering quality in an area that so few can in the current Arsenal squad.

Madueke has a problem to overcome because of Leandro Trossard
Madueke is a beast in the wide areas, but his spot on the left side won’t be as simple to repossess when he returns.
That’s because of the form that Trossard is in, with the Belgian recording three goal contributions in his previous three Arsenal appearances.
It would be unjust for Trossard to be replaced as soon as Madueke returns, but that will only make the Englishman hungrier to impress when he’s on the pitch.
In turn, Martinelli’s performance levels must rise, with three left-sided options there for Arteta to choose from.
It will be a thrill to have Madueke back in action, with a lot to play for once he returns to peak fitness.
