Arsenal are still on the hunt for a new sporting director, with the highly-rated Dan Ashworth a fresh name on the market once again.
It comes after Edu Gaspar’s shock resignation at Arsenal, with the director stepping down after helping rebuild the club.
Given his place as a former player and then his part in getting them back to the top with some clever transfers, it came as something of a surprise.
It means Arsenal are still looking for a replacement, with some huge decisions to be made on the future at the Emirates Stadium.
A new name on the scene is Dan Ashworth, who left Manchester United after just five months in his role at Old Trafford.

Dan Ashworth to Arsenal could depend on Richard Garlick
Ashworth had impressed in previous stints at clubs, including at Brighton and the English FA, while his quick switches between Newcastle and Man United haven’t quite worked.
That said, the highly-rated sporting director is someone who may not be short of options, following on from some of his more impressive tenures.
If Ashworth is to make the move to Arsenal, then the switch may be dependent on one key backroom member of staff.
That being Richard Garlick, the Managing Director of the club who was given the role in the summer – having previously been titled the Director of Football Operations.
Before moving to join the Gunners, Garlick was at West Bromwich Albion for a while, where he worked alongside Ashworth.
The current Arsenal man succeeded the former Man United director at the Hawthorns back in 2013, taking his post when Ashworth moved on to join the FA.
With the pair having worked together extensively over the years, Garlick could be key to securing a move for his former colleague.

Arsenal Sporting Director replacement latest
Arsenal’s hunt for a new sporting director is set to take some time, with the club going through an extensive process to find the right replacement to Edu.
Roberto Olabe and Tomas Rosicky have been amongst those linked with a possible position at the Emirates Stadium to replace Edu.
However, by the end of the process, it seems as though Mikel Arteta is set to have a large say on whichever person comes in for the role.
Whether Dan Ashworth is part of the process remains to be seen, with no firm links yet on a possible place at the club.
However, given his reputation in the game, it wouldn’t be a surprise to soon see him in the frame to join the club.
