Arsenal see £35m as too much to spend on Wolves player Ruben Neves if you believe the latest reports.
According to The Sun, Jorge Mendes is in constant contact with technical director Edu over the 24-year-old midfielder. Arsenal see the Portugal international as the main target in their pursuit to replace Granit Xhaka.
As we all know by now, the Switzerland international is close to sealing a move to AS Roma. It’s claimed Xhaka is willing to cut short his holiday to complete the transfer.

Arsenal need to pay the £35m for Wolves ace Neves
The report claims the north London giants have money, yet aren’t willing to meet the Midlanders’ asking price.
It proves a worrying state of events especially if Xhaka exits as planned. Arsenal need to pay the £35m required to buy the Wolves ace Neves. The club will desperately need a replacement for the 29-year-old should he depart the Emirates Stadium this summer.
His influence was quite sensational in the second half of last season, earning him a place in the CIES team of the year.
In Neves, the club are clearly targeting a player of a similar profile to Xhaka. However, at 24-years-old, the former Porto man is more mouldable and arguably has a higher ceiling.
Hearing the club see £35m as too much for a crucial target is worrying. Whether the club like it or not, they’ll need to spend the money if Xhaka leaves this summer.
