All the recent reports point towards Arsenal getting their summer transfer business done early.

However, it seems all their rivals are also heading in the same direction, at a quicker pace.

Manchester City are reportedly finalising a move for Jack Grealish, whilst, Aston Villa have already acquired Emiliano Buendia.

Arsenal’s rivals aren’t hanging around, and neither should they.

The club have been linked with a move for Ben White. According to reports, the outfit is close to finalising a £50m deal for the Brighton defender. Whilst a deal may be debated, the move is a sign of Mikel Arteta’s ruthless intentions.

However, with such a difficult start to the season, this needs to continue over the coming weeks. Arsenal needs to finalise most of their summer business before the season gets underway on August 13th.

The eighth-place finish in the Premier League really highlighted the lack of quality at the Emirates Stadium. Going into the new campaign with the same squad as last season would be a foolish decision.

That leaves the hierarchy chasing a left-back, right-back, central and creative midfielder in under two months. A lot of business to complete in such little time, however, it’s paramount.

A central midfielder is the most crucial of all the positions with Granit Xhaka closing in on a move to AS Roma. It leaves just Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny as the senior options with the club one injury away from disaster.

Three of the Premier League’s top seven await in their opening six games. And with the Spaniard already under pressure following last year’s failures, there is little room for error.

The transfer business needs to get done early by Arsenal as they look to alleviate pressure from Arteta.
