According to Goal, the Gunners, along with Manchester City, were rejected by the former Real Madrid defender. Instead, the Spain international chose French giants, PSG, where he’s signed a two-year deal worth £13m-per-year.
But, there are some reasons why a transfer would be a bad idea.

Whilst signing an experience and trophy-laden central defender seems like a great opportunity, it’s anything but.
Ramos is already 36-years-old and far from his younger self.
The ace was injured for most of last season, playing just 21 times across all competitions for Los Blancos. He endured hell after sitting out most of the season with a raft of different issues.
Signing an injury-prone veteran is far from ideal for a club in Arsenal’s situation.

Before moving for Ramos, Arsenal already had quite the depth at centre-half and were already looking to add some more.
The likes of Rob Holding, Pablo Mari, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are all available to Arteta. And the club had the third-best defence last season, showing off their quality.
Meanwhile, the club have been chasing a move for Ben White all summer long. Recent reports have claimed that a deal is close to completion.
Adding another option, on top of the five that would potentially be at the club is bonkers. Arsenal were handed a reprieve after they were rejected by the Spaniard.
