Arsenal are facing the possibility of losing Thomas Partey this summer.
Partey is edging closer to an Arsenal exit after reports suggest the midfielder has rejected a new contract offer due to wanting a wage increase.
Martin Zubimendi’s imminent arrival would increase competition for Partey next season however, the Gunners are light in the central midfield area after Jorginho’s departure.
Arsenal want a quick resolution with Partey so that they can continue their plans for the Premier League season opener against Manchester United.
With his exit looking increasingly likely, Arsenal Insider looks at three options in the transfer market to replace the Ghanaian.

Three Arsenal replacements for Thomas Partey
Carlos Baleba
As per BBC Sport, Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler has described his midfielder Carlos Baleba as an ‘unbelievable’ player.
The 21-year-old was exceptional for the Seagulls in the middle of the park last season and has replaced former Gunners transfer target Moises Caicedo with ease.
Baleba is athletic, tenacious in the tackle and excellent on the ball however, his transfer fee may be a stumbling block with Andrea Berta keen to reinforce attacking options.
It is thought that Brighton would look for a fee in the region of £60m and with the signing of Zubimendi already confirmed, it is unlikely the Gunners will splash that sort of cash on another midfield option.
Bruno Guimaraes
Arsenal have a long-term interest in Bruno Guimaraes and Partey’s departure may prompt the Gunners to finally act on their admiration.
Guimaraes was integral once again to Newcastle ending their trophy drought, bossing the Arsenal midfield during the Carabao Cup semi-final clash.
He was also instrumental in helping the club qualify for the Champions League and would represent an outstanding addition to Arteta’s squad.
Again, the Brazilian is a player who would command a significant transfer figure and how much of Arsenal’s reported £200m budget will be spent on another midfielder remains in question.
| Bruno Guimaraes record last season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Guimaraes | 47 | 5 | 8 |
Lucien Agoume
With the Gunners wanting to add the likes of Benjamin Sesko and Rodrygo to their ranks, money is expected to be limited for Partey’s replacement.
Up steps Lucien Agoume as the likeliest candidate that Berta will swoop for in order to bolster midfield numbers.
Spanish outlet El Nacional have reported Arsenal’s interest in Agoume and the midfielder could be available for as little as £17m with Sevilla in financial difficulty.
He impressed in his 35 La Liga appearances last season and at just 23, the player has time to develop and become a key part of Arteta’s plans moving forward.
