Arsenal star Leandro Trossard is expected to sign a new contract at the club.
Andrea Berta is in ‘advanced talks’ with Trossard over a new deal at the Emirates Stadium as the Belgian enters his final year of his current contract.
Fans are unconvinced by Trossard’s extension, although some reports claim the new deal may not extend in length but just in salary to reflect his status as a key member of Mikel Arteta’s squad.
However, Trossard has featured in every game this season for the Gunners and his versatility and reliability are factors that any manager would want in a title-chasing side.
With news of that impending deal for Trossard, Arsenal Insider takes a look at the impact and the winners and losers of the new contract for the Belgian.

Winners from Leandro Trossard’s potential new Arsenal contract
Mikel Arteta
Arteta has suffered from a lack of options in attack this season following injuries to the likes of Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz.
Losing Trossard would be a reliable and versatile option heading out the door, and a player that has proven he can score in big games and big moments.
The Belgian may not feature much in the Premier League starting line-ups next campaign but you can be sure Trossard will be relied upon heavily from the bench and in rotation for the cup competitions.
Kai Havertz
Despite missing a large part of the second half of the season, Havertz and Trossard struck up an excellent understanding of each other’s games.
The pair were successful playing in a 4-4-2 formation alongside each other and particularly enjoyed success in that role during Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over PSG in the Champions League back in October.
A huge part of success in football is finding partnerships across the pitch and Arteta has stumbled upon one in attack that can still bring trophies to the club next season.
Losers from Leandro Trossard’s potential new Arsenal contract
Gabriel Martinelli
Arsenal could sell Gabriel Martinelli this summer should a ‘huge’ offer arrive and news of a new contract for his fellow winger Trossard could mean that Martinelli is edging closer to an Arsenal exit.
It is no secret, the club are looking to bring in multiple players in forward areas this summer and may have to sell some players to comply with PRS rules.
Despite the Brazilian’s blistering start to his Gunners’ career, his form has dipped in the last two seasons and patience may be running out for the 23-year-old to deliver.
| Gabriel Martinelli Arsenal record this season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Martinelli | 50 | 10 | 6 |
Reiss Nelson
Reiss Nelson has spent the season on loan at Fulham and impressed before hamstring surgery spelled the end of his campaign prematurely.
The 25-year-old is under contract at Arsenal until 2027 and would have been hoping that his performances for Fulham would have given him another chance under Arteta upon return.
However, with Trossard and Martinelli ahead of him in the pecking order and the potential signings of Rodrygo or Nico Williams on the horizon, a move away from North London seems the best option for Nelson.
