Ben White has had his say on Arsenal star Bukayo Saka after watching him in England’s training sessions.
The Brighton and Hove Albion star has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal over the last few weeks. The Gunners have reportedly had two offers for the versatile Englishman rejected already, but there is optimism that a deal can be completed. (The Sun)
White would be a really good addition at Arsenal. He is a top-quality centre-half and the fact that he can play as a right-back and in defensive midfield makes him an outstanding option for any manager to have.
Ben White: Bukayo Saka has been unbelievable
Now in the England camp alongside Arsenal star Saka, White was asked about his opinion of the teenager. The Gunners target claimed that his compatriot’s quality really surprised him as he never thought that he was as good as he actually is.
White told on TalkSport: “Bukayo, he’s been unbelievable in training. I didn’t really think he was as good as he was. It’s right foot, left foot, he can go either way, or shoot. He’s been really good.”
It will be interesting to see if either player gets the nod against Germany tomorrow. Saka proved his worth last time out, but White is yet to feature. It’s unlikely he will play tomorrow, but he could soon be regular for Arsenal.
White and Saka could form a stunning partnership at Arsenal
White is naturally a centre-half and that’s his best position. However, Football London revealed recently that Mikel Arteta could well use the Englishman at right-back, if and when Hector Bellerin leaves the club.
If that’s true, White and Saka could form a really impressive partnership on Arsenal’s right-wing. We all know what the teenager can do in that position, and if White can develop a good understanding with him, the two Englishmen could dominate that flank for years at the Emirates.
Arsenal are expected to go back in with a third bid for White in the coming days. Arteta is clearly desperate to sign him, and it’s up to Edu and Richard Garlick now to wrap this deal up and bring the 23-year-old to the Emirates before the start of our pre-season.
