Speaking on BBC Two (Monday, 10:20 pm), former Premier League defender Micah Richards revealed why he loves watching Arsenal star Kieran Tierney.
The Scotsman was absolutely brilliant for his country when they faced England in the Euros over the weekend. He was arguably the best player on the pitch, and his return made a massive difference for Steve Clarke’s side.
Tierney has been absolutely phenomenal for Arsenal as well since joining us in 2019. He has had a lot of injury issues over the last two years, but when he’s fully fit, there aren’t many better left-backs in world football.
Micah Richards: I love watching Arsenal star Kieran Tierney
Richards, a full-back himself, has admitted that he is a huge fan of the Arsenal number three. He raved about his versatility, work ethic and labelled him as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League at the moment.
He said: “With Tierney, I like him because he’s so versatile. We see him playing for Arsenal as a left-back, we see him playing in the three at the back for Scotland. But he’s not afraid to go forward. He goes in there with real quality, real endeavour.

“He works so hard, never pulls out of a challenge. I love watching him, I really do. He’s one of the best left-backs in the Premier League.”
Arsenal have to extend Kieran Tierney’s contract ASAP
Almost every Arsenal fan in the world sees Tierney as our future skipper. He has all the qualities to lead our side back to glory, but his tremendous talent makes him a very attractive option to some of the biggest clubs in the world.
The Scotsman still has three full years left on his Arsenal contract, but the Gunners simply cannot take a chance. We need to tie him down to a longer deal, and if reports are to be believed, Edu, Mikel Arteta and Richard Garlick have started talks already.
