Everyone will be watching Eberechi Eze as he prepares to make his Arsenal debut on matchday three against Liverpool.

Eze treated each of his games against Arsenal as a trial, with his goal always to represent the club of his heart.

As Thierry Henry said in a heartwarming message to Eze, the vision is no longer a dream; it’s reality, with the attacking midfielder set to make his debut for the Gunners on Sunday.

There’s an ongoing debate about what position Eze could play against Liverpool, but, quite frankly, the new signing won’t care; he’ll just want to be on the pitch.

Eberechi Eze could teach his teammates something about Anfield

What a game to make your debut on, a fixture that, from the point of view of Arsenal fans, is anxiety-inducing.

Putting all of the romance of Eze’s move to Arsenal aside, the 27-year-old actually has something in his locker that no one in the current squad has, and it could come of use at the perfect time.

The last time Arsenal won at Anfield in the Premier League was in 2012, but for Eze, it was just two seasons ago.

Eze scored the winning goal for Crystal Palace in their 1-0 win over Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in 2023/24, taking three points from Anfield.

The Englishman joins the Arsenal squad having scored a winning goal at the ground, something every member of Arteta’s side will dream of doing on Sunday.

Aside from his match-winning goal two seasons ago, Eze has also maintained a very good performance record against the Reds, recording a goal, seven successful dribbles and six key passes over his previous three league meetings with Liverpool, as per Sofascore.

The playmaker has achieved one of his dreams by signing for Arsenal, and now, he could achieve his next by influencing a victory for his new club at a ground as fierce as Anfield.

Eze made Jurgen Klopp say ‘wow’

It was in April 2024 that Crystal Palace stunned Liverpool by winning 1-0 at Anfield.

The performance absolutely merited a win, as the Eagles took three points back to London thanks to Eze’s match-winner.

Arsenal would love the same situation to play out on Sunday, with Eze having the potential to leave the opposition stunned.

During Palace’s famous win at Anfield 15 months ago, Eze had Klopp saying ‘wow’ on the touchline, as cameras captured the German’s reaction to the England international putting the ball in the net.

Eze finished a blistering piece of play from Palace, being the match-winner, something he’ll be desperate to recreate on matchday three of 2025/26.
