Arsenal star Jorginho has been in good form in recent weeks, and he has now dropped a hint over his long-term future.

The 31-year-old joined from Chelsea in January, and has been regularly starting in the absence of Thomas Partey.

Jorginho has brought calmness and composure to the base of the Arsenal midfield, and has been a solid signing overall, but with his deal set to expire at the end of the season, a decision may need to be made soon over his future.

Jorginho drops Arsenal transfer hint

Speaking in a press conference with the Italy National Team, Jorginho hinted that he may return to Serie A one day, but still has unfinished business with Arsenal.

“I’m very much in doubt, I would like to return but I don’t know when the right time would be,” he stated.

“I want to return yes, but I don’t know when, I feel I still have things to do at Arsenal.

“It always takes time when you change teams, but the first six months at Arsenal were not negative, on the contrary.”

“Obviously, it takes time to understand the mechanisms better, Arteta gives you a billion pieces of information but I’m very happy there.”

The £110k-a-week star is one of the oldest and most experienced players in the squad, having won major trophies both at club and international level in the past.

With Kai Havertz struggling to replace Granit Xhaka in midfield, Jorginho has been particularly useful in recent weeks as he has allowed Declan Rice to operate further forward.

His impressive form has won fans over after making a crucial error in the North London Derby earlier this season, and it is clear why Arteta likes him.

The veteran is a vocal leader on the pitch, and his intelligent passing helps Arsenal keep possession well. Despite the club aiming to sign a new midfielder in January, with Andre from Fluminense and Joao Neves from Benfica linked, Jorginho will still be a very useful member of the squad should the club offer him a new deal.
