Arsenal are already weighing up their options for the future transfer windows as a new target has been sounded out.

Mikel Arteta will first have to find a replacement for Edu Gaspar at Arsenal, as the Brazilian surprisingly left his post.

Edu’s replacement has several tasks to carry out to win over the fans at the Emirates, with many transfer wishes waiting to be answered.

Only 12 match weeks into the season, the cracks from Edu and Arteta’s misses in the summer transfer window are appearing, emphasising the need for change in the near future.

Arsenal target Bryan Mbeumo

One of the most requested transfers will be reinforcements in attack, as Arsenal’s attacking depth has been questioned this term.

The Gunners have been linked to several goalscorers and now, there’s an understanding that a Premier League forward is on Arteta’s radar.

Sources close to Arsenal Insider have informed us that Arsenal are eyeing a potential swoop for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

It’s said that Mbeumo ‘stands out’ to the Gunners in several ways, with the most prominent being his presence in front of goal.

Arsenal were linked to Mbeumo in the summer although nothing came of the interest, which could now change given the switch in personnel in the sporting director role.

Our sources confirm that Arsenal aren’t the only club to be watching the 25-year-old closely, with it understood that Arteta appreciates the player due to his versatility in attack.

There is a stalling point however in the fact that the Bees understandably do not want to part ways with the Cameroon international in January, whom they value around £50m.

Mbeumo’s Premier League record

Since signing for Brentford in 2019, Mbeumo hasn’t looked back, performing consistently well in the Premier League.

The versatile attacker is yet to dip below recording 10 goal contributions in a season, telling of his consistency and strength in the final third.

It’s clear to see why Arsenal would be interested in the Brentford star, who has proven to be a deadly force for the Bees over the years, with his form impressing this season.

While a move for the target in January looks unlikely, Arteta should remain on Mbeumo’s tail into the summer, where he could prove to be a tempting acquisition for the Gunners to bolster their attacking options.
