Andrea Berta could repeat the transfer feat Arsenal pulled off by signing Eberechi Eze.
In the eleventh hour, Arsenal hijacked Eze’s move to Tottenham.
The deal accelerated rapidly, less than 24 hours after it was announced that Kai Havertz had suffered a knee injury.
Mikel Arteta admitted Arsenal don’t yet know the extent of Havertz’s injury, but the Gunners acted to bolster their attack anyway, signing Eze.
As Eze was unveiled at the Emirates before kick-off against Leeds United, the Emirates couldn’t have been happier, but things took a turn when Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka suffered injuries.

Arsenal target Rodrygo could leave Real Madrid
Saka could miss weeks with a hamstring injury, while Odegaard is set to undergo a scan on his shoulder on Sunday.
After replenishing the squad by signing Eze, Arsenal suffered a further two setbacks, losing their star duo against Leeds.
It’s unclear whether Andrea Berta will look in the market again before the transfer window closes, but one opportunity is arising.
Arsenal are admirers of Rodrygo, who, according to Marca, is one of the most likely players to leave Real Madrid this summer.
Marca’s report claims that Los Blancos are ‘awaiting a final move’ to work out whether both Rodrygo and former Gunner Dani Ceballos will find suitors this summer.
The pair are described as the ‘main protagonists’ of exit rumours, and are the most likely to leave, despite no official offers or contact being made.
Arsenal have been linked with a loan move for Rodrygo more recently, which could suit both clubs, particularly after Saka’s injury.
Xabi Alonso doesn’t have a place for Rodrygo in his starting XI, while at Arsenal, building depth could be the difference between winning the league and going another season without silverware.
Arsenal aren’t the only Premier League club interested in Rodrygo
Rodrygo’s future isn’t clear, nor is the extent of Arsenal’s interest, particularly after signing Eze.
Another winger could suit Arteta ahead of an action-packed season, with Rodrygo able to be that figure.
There are problems, as the Brazilian has an astronomical salary that exceeds anyone currently in the Arsenal squad, and the Gunners aren’t the only club linked to the 24-year-old.
Marca reference that Real Madrid ‘know’ that Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal are ‘on the hunt’.
It will be interesting to see where Rodrygo’s next path leads him, and whether Berta decides to react similarly to Saka’s injury as he did to Havertz’s.
