Andrea Berta has done a remarkable job since becoming Arsenal’s sporting director.

The Italian signed eight new players in last summer’s transfer window, and he has also managed to extend the contracts of several key players, including William Saliba, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Magalhaes.

Arsenal fans are excited to see what Berta has in store for them in the upcoming summer transfer window, and it looks like he has set his sights on Nicolo Tresoldi.

Arsenal are the ‘favourites’ to sign Nicolo Tresoldi

Arsenal have Viktor Gyokeres, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus as their three strikers at the moment.

Mikel Merino can play up top, as can Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, but none of them are out-and-out centre-forwards.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal will look to sign a new attacker in the summer, which is not a surprise as Jesus is expected to be sold.

Julian Alvarez is clearly the dream for many fans, but Christian Falk has revealed that the Gunners are leading the race to sign Tresoldi of Club Brugge.

The journalist tweeted: “Arsenal are currently the favourites to sign German striker Nicolo Tresoldi. The club are seriously interested, and talks are underway.”

Tresoldi has had a fine season for the Belgian side, scoring 17 goals and providing five assists in all competitions.

The 21-year-old German played against Arsenal in the Champions League in the league phase this season. He didn’t score in that game, but he found the net against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Nicolo Tresoldi could be Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus replacement

Tresoldi shares many similarities with Arsenal star Jesus.

The striker is excellent at linking play up and has the dribbling skills to get out of tight spaces and be a menace inside the box.

What makes the German a more exciting prospect is the fact that he looks very clinical in front of goal. He can score a variety of goals and has been incredible for Brugge this season.

Arsenal are right to target a young striker with big potential to add to their squad, and the fact that Tresoldi has scored 17 goals this season – more than any of Mikel Arteta’s players – shows he is a star in the making.

As a replacement for Jesus, we think Tresoldi would be a great signing.
