Andrea Berta is already working on new signings for Arsenal, even though the summer transfer window is still months away.

The Gunners signed eight new players last year, and that has helped them massively. Arsenal are the favourites to win the Premier League, Champions League and the Carabao Cup, and they are expected to go far in the FA Cup as well.

Mikel Arteta has a near-complete team at the moment, but there is always room for improvement, and Berta has his plans ready.

Arsenal are looking to strengthen three positions in the summer – one in defence, one in midfield and another in attack.

Fabrizio Romano shares Andrea Berta’s summer transfer window plans for Arsenal

Andrea Berta has done a magnificent job since joining Arsenal.

Apart from signing eight new players last summer, he has secured the futures of Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and most recently, Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal fans have full faith in Berta now, and it will be interesting to see what he has in store for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that three positions are on top of Berta’s agenda – right-back, central midfielder and a winger.

The journalist said in a video streamed on YouTube: “One thing I can guarantee is that Arsenal will work on midfielders in the summer eventually.

“We know, for example, some of the names, some of the options they already considered in January after the injury of Mikel Merino. So Arsenal are looking at some options.

“But I can tell you that one of the priorities in the summer transfer window for Arsenal – I think a bit underrated at this moment in terms of media – could also be to add a younger right back to the squad.

“So Arsenal are also considering the possibility of doing something not just in midfield but could also be at the right back position, and also on the winger position. So Arsenal are going to be active in the summer transfer window.”

Andrea Berta could raid Newcastle United to strengthen

Berta is clearly looking for reinforcements at right-back, central midfield and out wide, and reports have linked the Gunners with players in each of those roles.

Interestingly, three of them play for Newcastle United.

Tino Livramento has been linked with a move to Arsenal as a replacement for Ben White, with the latter expected to leave the club this summer.

In midfield, Sandro Tonali is said to be a target for the Gunners, and his agents even offered him to Berta in the winter window.

Finally, Arsenal are said to be the favourites to sign Anthony Gordon this summer, with the winger preferring a move to the Emirates over Liverpool or Manchester United.
