Arsenal have been told they will not be signing Noni Madueke from Chelsea for a ‘bargain’ fee this summer, Arsenal Insider understands.

Arsenal signed Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea in a £5m deal earlier in the summer window and he joins the likes of Kai Havertz and Raheem Sterling to have made the move across London in recent seasons.

The latest player linked with a move to Arsenal from Chelsea is winger Noni Madueke and manager Enzo Maresca had a clear message for Madueke following his side’s FIFA Club World Cup victory over Palmeiras.

Madueke has agreed personal terms with Arsenal but there have been no discussions between the clubs over a fee. Andrea Berta will have to pay the Premier League asking price for a young, talented winger.

Arsenal will have to follow Antony Elanga and Matheus Cunha fee for Noni Madueke

Arsenal are chasing a number of forward targets alongside Madueke, the Gunners are in advanced talks with Viktor Gyokeres and also want to seal a deal for Eberechi Eze.

Player sales will be crucial to balancing the books but it is thought that Berta is hoping to take advantage of Chelsea’s bloated squad in order to capture the England international in a ‘bargain’ deal.

However, TBR Football’s chief transfer expert Graeme Bailey has explained that Chelsea are in no rush to sell Madueke and there are a number of teams fighting for his signature.

Bailey stated: “Elanga, Mbeumo and Cunha all going for £60m probably sets the market. Elanga’s overall deal is £60m. Agreeing personal terms is not a major thing, it doesn’t take the deal on at all.

“Madueke is talking to other clubs as well, he’s not just talking to Arsenal. Chelsea will, as we’ve seen, demand a certain price, they won’t take any bargain fee for Madueke, they don’t need to.”

Arsenal cannot sacrifice Rodrygo deal for Noni Madueke

Arsenal have a reported budget of £200m this window and a large chunk of that is set aside to end their striker search in Gyokeres.

With Mikel Arteta wanting further attacking reinforcements, spending £60m on Madueke would surely end any interest in the likes of Eze and the club’s dream target of Rodrygo from Real Madrid.

Madueke performed well for Chelsea last season and would provide cover for Bukayo Saka, while he has the versatility to play on the left flank too.

However, the Gunners would be better off spending an extra £10m on Rodrygo, who has shown far better levels of consistency in the Champions League and with his national side Brazil.
