Forget Noni Madueke, three alternatives to propel Arsenal to the Premier League title instead of their ‘top target’

Arsenal are considering a number of potential options in a bid to add some spark to their attack this summer.

Mikel Arteta sent a clear message to Andrea Berta that the Gunners were lacking firepower up top and had to use Mikel Merino in an emergency centre forward role last season.

Bukayo Saka suffered a serious hamstring injury midway through the season with a lack of competition in the right wing area meaning he was consistently playing three games every week.

Eberechi Eze and Rodrygo have been touted as potential targets this summer but Arsenal are in talks with Noni Madueke over a move to the Emirates Stadium and Fabrizio Romano has delivered an important update on the move.

Arsenal advance on personal term discussions with Noni Madueke

As per Romano, Arsenal have advanced on personal term discussions with Madueke and the journalist claims he is among the club’s ‘top targets’ this summer.

Enzo Maresca has opened the door for Madueke’s exit by claiming that he only wants players who are ‘happy’ to be at Chelsea.

Madueke was a substitute during Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final victory over Palmeiras but no discussions have taken place between the two clubs.

It is understood that Madueke has not asked to leave Chelsea but would be open to a move across London.

Three alternatives for Arsenal instead of Noni Madueke

Although competition and cover for the likes of Saka and Gabriel Martinelli is paramount this summer, supporters are right to be slightly underwhelmed by a move for Madueke.

Raheem Sterling’s loan disaster last season has scarred Arsenal fans from buying players from their London rivals, although Kai Havertz and Jorginho have shown it can be a success.

There are other options for Arsenal to consider in wide areas, players with Premier League experience, Champions League experience and will excite supporters.

Bradley Barcola

Bradley Barcola was sensational on the way to PSG winning their first Champions League title but contract talks with the French superstar are not straightforward.

PSG’S asking price for Barcola is excessive but Berta may be able to capitalise on stalling talks over a new deal.

His frightening pace and ability to produce extraordinary moments out of nothing is something that Arteta craves in his side.

Antoine Semenyo

Antoine Semenyo has just signed a new deal at Bournemouth but Arsenal can exploit the Premier League club’s interest in one of their own.

Reiss Nelson could be used in a deal for Semenyo given Bournemouth’s interest in the winger and Arsenal would be getting one of the league’s most dynamic players.

The 25-year-old fired 11 goals and six assists last season and would be the ideal player to join the ranks under Arteta.

Morgan Rogers

A player with experience both domestically and in Europe, Morgan Rogers has rapidly become one of the hottest prospects in the game.

Arsenal are interested in Rogers and with Aston Villa in some financial difficulties there could be scope for a deal to take place.

His versatility across the front line and his eye for goal, make him the ideal candidate to come into the club instead of Madueke.
