Arsenal have been given a brand new incentive to beat Manchester United to the signing of Viktor Gyokeres this summer.
The two Premier League sides appear to be battling it out to land the striker, with the aim of improving their attacking options.
So far this summer, Arsenal have been in talks with Viktor Gyokeres over a transfer switch, but he isn’t the only centre-forward on their radar.
The Gunners are also interested in Benjamin Sesko, but as it stands, there is a decision to be made on which option they go for.
Following the recent Premier League fixture announcement, Arsenal have a greater incentive to go out and sign Viktor Gyokeres in the coming months.

Arsenal have a fresh incentive to sign Viktor Gyokeres ahead of the Manchester United opener
Arsenal aren’t alone in their interest in Gyokeres, as Manchester United want to sign the striker too.
Ruben Amorim worked extensively with the Swedish international in his time at Sporting CP, getting plenty out of him.
While Gyokeres has given priority to Arsenal over Man United, it’s unclear if the Gunners will pick the £67 million-rated forward or Sesko to be their new number nine.
There is, however, one new incentive for Andrea Berta to sign Gyokeres in the next few weeks.
That’s because Arsenal take on Manchester United in the first match of the Premier League season for 2025/26.
It not only offers the Gunners a chance to strengthen their ranks by landing him in time to face the Red Devils, but it also deals a blow to them in the head-to-head.
That may only deepen the rivalry between Arsenal and Man United, both on and off the pitch, which has seen plenty of transfer battles over the years.

Arsenal can finally land revenge for Robin van Persie with Viktor Gyokeres transfer
Arsenal have been on the wrong end of too many transfer battles with Manchester United over the years.
One that particularly sticks out to fans is Robin van Persie.
After a successful spell with the Gunners, Van Persie decided to leave Arsenal for Manchester United, turning himself into a bit of a villain at the Emirates Stadium as a result.

It’s something that supporters still feel passionate about, as a player they truly loved decided to join their rivals.
By landing Gyokeres, it won’t undo the past, but it will potentially change the future of both clubs.
For Arsenal, it’s finally their chance at landing revenge over the striker transfer situation, giving themselves a potential advantage for the opening day as a result.
