Arsenal were shocked when Edu Gaspar left the club, but it’s fair to say that the Gunners haven’t looked back since.
Hiring Andrea Berta was a statement by Arsenal, who saw the opportunity arise to get the Italian on board following his exit from Atletico Madrid.
Berta pulled off some of Europe’s biggest deals at Atletico and has wasted no time getting Arsenal’s summer transfer window underway.
Just one month into the market, and Berta is in the process of significantly bolstering Mikel Arteta’s squad, with signings confirmed and in the works in N5.
As Viktor Gyokeres edges closer to signing for Arsenal alongside Noni Madueke, the Gunners are already working on yet another deal.

Arsenal fans are in awe of Andrea Berta
While all eyes wait to see Madueke and Gyokeres in the red and white of Arsenal, David Ornstein of The Athletic revealed that Berta has quietly been working on Cristhian Mosquera’s transfer.
Arsenal have shown strong interest in Mosquera, but talks quietened as Valencia and the North Londoners squabbled over the centre-back’s price tag.
As Ornstein reported that the transfer is now ‘very advanced’, fans took to social media to react to the news, showering Berta with praise.
“Andrea Berta you’re overworking. You’re suffocating us with good news after good news. I used to pray for times like these.”
Another fan credited the sporting director for being life-altering, “Andrea Berta, you have changed our lives.”
A lot of love was shown on X for Berta, as Arsenal supporters shared how ‘impressed’ they are with the Italian’s work.
“I’m very impressed with Andrea Berta so far. All the noise from the club and in the media over the past few weeks is so promising, not only for this summer, but for the future. Proactive, aggressive and seemingly competent. Love it.”
“At this point Berta is overcooking,” one fan said, as another started thinking of the future, “Andrea Berta is cooking. We are winning the league.”
Praise for the sporting director, who succeeded Edu in the role, then turned into a comparison with his predecessor.
“I used to pray for times like this. Call Edu and sack him again.”
Others noticed the ‘difference’ between Edu’s work and Berta’s.
“Good sporting directors really make a massive difference don’t they?”
“Right so this is what having a high-functioning sporting director feels like.”
“Doing deals rapidly now yeah? Edu deserves to be flogged for the nonsense he did last window.”
Berta was applauded for restoring Arsenal’s ‘big club’ status in the transfer market.
“Damn I don’t recognise my club. We’re moving like a big club again.”

Dream window shaping up for Arsenal
It was a slow start to the summer, but now, things are really taking shape.
Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard have been unveiled, while Gyokeres, Madueke are in the final stages, and Mosquera is being worked on.
So what’s next?
It’s understood that Arsenal will continue to push for Eberechi Eze, who could bolster Arteta’s attack even further.
Working proactively with high-profile signings ahead of pre-season is something that Arsenal haven’t become accustomed to in recent years, making praise for Berta all the more understandable.
