Andrea Berta has stepped up Arsenal’s transfer activity in the last week, with deals for four players close, while links to strikers have intensified.
Martin Zubimendi is set to sign from Real Sociedad for £55 million, while the addition of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is also set to be announced.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have agreed a deal for Christian Norgaard and are working on a deal for Cristhian Mosquera.
With these four signings almost all wrapped up, attention has turned back to the pursuit of a number nine, with Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko still considered the primary targets.
Arsenal fans aren’t happy with Nicolas Jackson transfer links
Nicolas Jackson has emerged as a surprise target for Arsenal, with the Senegalese striker said to be on the market for £58 million.
The Gunners tend to favour moves for players who have impressed in the Premier League already, and Jackson did so for Chelsea last season, netting ten goals in the English top flight and 13 in all competitions.
Despite this, the Arsenal faithful aren’t best pleased with Berta’s idea to poach the Chelsea number nine.
One fan wrote on X: “If this happens. All scouts should leave the club. What a waste of time.”
Another added: “Honestly, I’m getting fed up with Arteta’s approach to squad building.”
Meanwhile, one supporter wrote: “Isn’t really that good enough for Chelsea, but somehow good enough for a team capable of winning the league.”
However, another fan played devil’s advocate, arguing for the potential addition of Jackson: “This guy is being mistreated at Chelsea, he is not an excellent finisher but guy creates chances for the teammates to score through his runs. Palmer has been a great beneficiary of that, when he got injured Palmer and Chelsea struggled for goals.”
Arsenal should avoid Nicolas Jackson
Jackson has clearly developed a reputation for being inefficient in front of goal, and he’s arguably become underrated.
Boasting exceptional movement and blistering pace, he’s a constant threat and live wire in and around the box.
In the right team, he could certainly thrive and earn more plaudits.

That said, Arsenal should steer clear of signing Jackson for a few reasons.
Chelsea are likely to demand an excessive fee if they were to sell to the Gunners, with the player said to not be actively up for sale but merely not deemed untouchable.
Additionally, the 24-year-old excels when he has space to exploit in behind opposition defences, and his goals dried up last season as teams began sitting deeper against the Blues.
Arsenal are rarely offered space in behind against Premier League sides, and thus they wouldn’t be able to maximise Jackson’s best attributes.
