Transfer deadline day is an unusually busy day in the market, with teams around Europe looking to bolster their ranks.
Arsenal have been among those in recent years who have pushed hard for new recruits on the final day of the window, though with varying success.
While Andriy Arshavin is an example of when the deal goes through, there have been some failures to make late deals stick.
Mikel Arteta is all too familiar with that, with transfer deadline day harbouring some memories of late window heartbreak for the Arsenal boss.

Arsenal’s previous transfer deadline day move for Douglas Luiz
Transfer deadline day brings back memories of some of the failed deals Arsenal pursued and couldn’t quite get over the line.
Back in 2022, the Gunners made a push to sign midfielder Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa, with a few bids made.
Three offers were lodged to the Villains, starting at £20million and rising to £25million until it was eventually rejected.
It was one of those deals that simply got away from Mikel Arteta as he looked to bolster his central ranks.
It proved somewhat costly, though Arsenal went on to address those issues as the next summer Arsenal spent £105million to sign Declan Rice from West Ham.
The club and player have been on very different paths since that failed move to the Emirates Stadium, with a return to the Premier League potentially on the cards for Douglas Luiz.

What Douglas Luiz has done since failed Arsenal transfer
Douglas Luiz ended up staying at Aston Villa for another two years after failing to join Arsenal, even going on to help the club land Champions League football.
The midfielder didn’t stick around for the next phase of that journey though, leaving last summer to join Juventus.
The Brazilian has struggled in his time there though, with injuries and performances making it tough for game time under Thiago Motta.
According to reports earlier in the January transfer window from The Athletic, Juventus have been open to letting Douglas Luiz leave.
Plenty of links have surrounded a switch back to the Premier League, with the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United showing interest.
It remains to be seen if he will be in for another late transfer deadline day switch or not, but it’s a move that will always be linked with Arsenal.
