Arsenal have been subject to another approach from Juventus for centre-back Jakub Kiwior, who Mikel Arteta brought to the club in 2023.

In total, Kiwior has made 52 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions since he arrived, a left centre-back who has actually played as a full-back more often for Arteta.

Given how imperious Gabriel Magalhaes has become for the Gunners, Kiwior has seldom ever been handed a chance in his preferred position for any long period of time.

The Poland international’s only consistent run of games as a starter came at left-back at the beginning of 2024, when he was actually integral to an excellent run of wins.

However, once the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu were eventually back from injury, Kiwior was swiftly replaced.

Arsenal have rebuffed Juventus’ interest in Jakub Kiwior

That being said, Arsenal Insider have spoken to transfer expert Graeme Bailey of TBR Football, who has provided an update on Kiwior’s situation, amid several links away from the club this month.

Signed from Spezia in 2023, several Serie A sides have been interested in Kiwior over the last six-months or so.

And given that Juventus are targeting two new centre-backs this month, the Italian giants recently approached Arsenal once again regarding the availability of Kiwior.

Juventus have already been told that Kiwior was unavailable this month, and Arsenal once again said no to their fresh approach.

Instead, the Italians are now turning their attention to two other Premier League talents – Renato Veiga at Chelsea and Lloyd Kelly at Newcastle United.

Juventus are seemingly in a good position to sign Veiga on loan this month, which could actually turn out to be good news for Arsenal for another reason.

Arsenal creating a path for Oleksandr Zinchenko to leave in January

It was recently shared that Borussia Dortmund want Oleksandr Zinchenko this month.

The German side are said to be considering a loan move for Zinchenko with an obligation to buy clause inserted in the deal.

Previously, Dortmund were pushing to sign Veiga from Chelsea, which would likely mean that they wouldn’t pursue Zinchenko.

So in turn, Arsenal rejecting Juventus’ approach for Kiwior might actually help them offload Zinchenko if the dominos all fall correctly.

Arsenal would prefer to offload both Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney before Jakub Kiwior, given that the Poland defender is able to cover for Gabriel at left centre-back.
