Arsenal are making it clear that they are unwilling to match Atletico Madrid’s £86.5 million valuation of Julian Alvarez in the summer.

Andrea Berta wants to sign another attacker at Arsenal in the summer and is drawing up a list of targets at the Emirates Stadium.

Agree or disagree: Julian Alvarez should be Arsenal’s primary target this summer – look what he did to Spurs!

Alvarez is a player he knows well, having signed him for Atletico, and now, the Italian director is keen to bring him to Arsenal.

But there is a big issue the Gunners are facing, with Atletico demanding big money for the 26-year-old, which the Gunners are unwilling to pay.

Arsenal are unwilling to pay £86.5m for Julian Alvarez to sign the striker from Atletico Madrid in the summer, according to The Independent.

The North London club want to sign another striker, and Alvarez is one of the players who has caught their attention.

Mikel Arteta is believed to be a huge fan of the Argentine striker and, having failed to get him last summer, a return move could now be on the cards.

Arsenal went to watch him against Tottenham last week, and the striker really impressed with a goal and assists during the Champions League tie.

Right now, Alvarez is happy at Atletico, although that stance could well change in the summer, were Arsenal and Barcelona to come in for him.

Alvarez is keen to remain in Spain, which gives Barca the advantage; however, it remains to be seen whether they could afford him.

How do you RATE Viktor Gyokeres’ first season at Arsenal👀

Julian Alvarez’s record compared to Viktor Gyokeres

The Gunners still have Viktor Gyokeres and are expected to stick by him, although they could sign more competition for his place in the team.

However, Gyokeres has just one goal fewer than the former Man City star this season, with the Swede netting 16 times in all competitions.

Alvarez is a great player and clearly a better fit for Arsenal than Gyokeres, but the Gunners need an elite goal scorer.

The 26-year-old’s highest-scoring Premier League campaign was 11, so it’s hardly that inspiring to pay nearly 100 million euros for.
