Arsenal are accelerating their plans to build a title winning squad ahead of next season by making moves in the transfer market.

Arsenal are expected to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in the summer and with Thomas Partey and Jorginho out of contract, reinforcements are needed.

Mikel Arteta has been decimated with injuries in the attacking areas this season and will be keen to avoid a similar scenario in the next campaign by compiling a quality squad with depth all over the pitch.

Arsenal are ready to bid for Alexander Isak and it seems that another world-class player is also being eyed on a potential free transfer.

Arsenal open concrete talks with Joshua Kimmich

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal have opened concrete talks over the signing of Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich.

The Champions league winner and German international is out of contract in the summer and the Gunners are keen to swoop in.

Kimmich has stalled on Bayern’s latest contract offer until 2028 and it now appears that the interest from Arsenal was a factor as the eight time Bundesliga winner assesses his options.

The experienced German has played 36 times in all competitions this season and already produced an impressive ten assists.

Kimmich would be ideal for Arteta’s Arsenal squad

Having won countless major trophies in his career and bringing a wealth of experience, Kimmich would be an excellent addition for Arsenal, especially on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old can play at right back or in central midfield, Kimmich would be a better option than Partey in both of those roles.

Kimmich scored in Bayern’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal in last season’s Champions League quarter final and his ability and technique on the ball would bring something extra to the squad.

There is no denying his unbelievable leadership skills too and with his trophy cabinet bulging, Kimmich’s winning mentality may be just what Arteta requires to spread around the dressing room.
