Leandro Trossard is having an impressive World Cup campaign.

No player has created more chances at the tournament than the Belgian, with FotMob crediting him with 16 chance creations so far.

He assisted Youri Tielemans’ late equaliser against Senegal before Belgium went on to win 3-2 after extra time, advancing to the last 16.

For a player supposedly on his way out of Arsenal, he is making a compelling case for staying.

👀 How much is Leandro Trossard worth to Arsenal? Should the Gunners be selling him at all?!

And yet, his Instagram activity suggests his mind may already be made up.

Journalist Eduardo Hagn has spotted that Trossard recently liked a comment on his latest post saying “Come to Besiktas”.

Turkish reports had already claimed Arsenal were ready to accept a €20million bid from the Istanbul club for the Belgian, whose contract expires next summer.

Trossard is reportedly open to the move.

Unai Emery and Aston Villa had also shown interest earlier in the window.

Mikel Arteta has a difficult decision to make on Leandro Trossard

Trossard has been one of Arsenal’s best signings of the Mikel Arteta era.

Signed for £27million from Brighton in January 2023, he has delivered big moments consistently and almost always been available.

The fact that he rarely picks up injuries and has never really relied on pace means there is little reason to think he is about to fall off a cliff at 32. His World Cup performances back that.

But Arsenal cannot afford to be sentimental this summer.

With Morgan Rogers and Bradley Barcola both linked with moves to the Emirates, something has to give in the attacking department.

With 12 months left on his contract, selling Trossard now would be smarter than losing him for nothing next summer.

Whether replacing him with someone like Christos Tzolis is the right call will divide opinion.

Tzolis offers similar qualities at a lower price, but he has never played at this level. It is a gamble.

Gabriel Martinelli is in a similar predicament, though his World Cup performances in a more central role may have given Arteta cause to reconsider his situation too.

Both decisions are difficult ones, but they need to be made soon, and Trossard’s Instagram activity suggests at least one of them may have been.
