Gabriel Martinelli’s Arsenal future is suddenly up in the air.
The Brazil international joined the Gunners from Ituano, who were in the fourth-tier of Brazilian football, back in the summer of 2019.
Nobody had really heard of Martinelli at the time, but the attacker became an instant fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium.
Now, almost six years later, there are doubts over whether Martinelli can fulfil his potential and become the star everyone thought he would be.
The money it would take for Arsenal to consider selling Gabriel Martinelli
Arsenal have been on the market for reinforcements in attack over the last few windows.
A new striker has been the priority, but the Gunners have been looking for a world-class wide player too to strengthen their attacking areas.
Nico Williams has been heavily linked with Arsenal, and the Spaniard is very similar to what people thought Martinelli would develop into.
Arsenal Insider exclusively revealed on Wednesday that Arsenal could sell one of Martinelli or Leandro Trossard in the summer transfer window.
Both players have been attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League, who have shown over the last two years that they are happy to spend outrageous money.
Charles Watts has had his say on the situation, and he feels that it would take a fee in the region of £70 million for Arsenal to even consider letting him go.
The journalist wrote on The Daily Briefing: “Martinelli is a different situation altogether. He’s still just 23 and has two years left on his current deal, with an option of a further 12 months after that.
“So Arsenal are in a strong position with him and it would take a big offer for them to consider letting him go – something probably around the £70 million mark in today’s market.”

What is Gabriel Martinelli’s transfer value in 2025?
Martinelli is an exceptionally talented player.
The Brazilian is still only 23 years old, and although he hasn’t quite been at his best over the last two years, there is every chance he could still become a superstar.
CIES Football Observatory released transfer values of the top-100 players in the world in January 2025, and Martinelli featured on that list.
The Arsenal number 11’s estimated transfer value at the start of the year was €101.2 million (£84.74m).
Arsenal should be demanding a lot more than that if clubs, especially from Saudi Arabia, come in for Martinelli in the upcoming summer transfer window.
