Arsenal star Thomas Partey has spent most of this season injured, and he could now leave in the January transfer window.
Partey is one of the club’s best players, having been an important figure at the base of midfield last season, but the arrival of Declan Rice, as well as constant injuries, have meant that he has hardly featured in his natural position this season.
Recent reports indicated that his injury could be set to keep him absent for the rest of the year, and with the player set to participate in the African Cup Of Nations in January, it could be some time before he is fit and firing in an Arsenal shirt.
Thomas Partey told Arsenal he would like to leave
A report from TuttoMercatoWeb has now claimed that Partey has “already told” Arsenal he wants to leave in January, amidst interest from Juventus, but the player is also holding out to see what offers he can get from Premier League or La Liga clubs.
In recent weeks, it surprisingly emerged that Partey is unhappy with his game time, which could be driving his desire to exit, but the main reason for his lack of game time, has been a lack of fitness.
Partey has started most games when actually available, but did start the season as an inverted right-back.
Should Arsenal let Partey go?

When fit, Partey is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and he could be the key to solving Arsenal’s midfield issues.
Mikel Arteta has only managed to use a Partey, Rice and Martin Odegaard midfield three once, as Arsenal were impressive in the Community Shield, and the prospect of this trio eventually gelling together in the second half of the season is an intriguing one.
However, the reality is that Partey will likely not be available until February anyway, with the player far from happy, and continuing to suffer with injury problems.
The 30-year-old is under contract until July 2025, and given his age and his lack of fitness, his value is only set to decline. If Arsenal receive a sizeable offer that allows them to sign a replacement in January, with Andre of Fluminense linked, then a sale should be considered.
