Arsenal could hit the January transfer market hard in the coming weeks as they look to bolster their forward options.

The Gunners are hopeful of responding to Bukayo Saka’s injury, with the star set for a long time on the sidelines through a torn hamstring.

That could see Arsenal look for a potential replacement, as Arsenal Insider understands that there won’t be a knee-jerk reaction to the injury, but the club are actively in the market for a forward.

There have been plenty of different links over possible moves, one of which is former Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic.

Arsenal have been linked with a transfer for Pulisic, with his performances in Italy catching the eye since joining AC Milan.

The former Chelsea man has 14 goal involvements across all competitions this season, with his involvement for the Rossoneri.

With a contract that expires in 2027, there had been some doubts over his future, though they may be solved.

According to Calciomercato, Pulisic is now closing in on a brand new contract at the San Siro, with a pay rise.

That looks likely to ward off any interest, with the report also claiming that Liverpool have looked into a deal.

For the moment though, the USMNT international still has his original contract and an aggressive approach could still secure him as a replacement to Bukayo Saka.

What Thierry Henry has said about Arsenal target Christian Pulisic

There has been plenty of praise for Pulisic since he has rediscovered his best form in Italy, getting involved in plenty of big moments for Milan.

One Arsenal legend in Thierry Henry has given plenty of praise to the Arsenal transfer target during the season.

Speaking to Pulisic in CBS Sports, he said: “Christian, I have something to say. I’ve been saying for a very long time that people are asking me what you need to do to play and perform.

“And I always said that it’s on you to show people what you need to do. And right now you are doing that every week.

“So play with your chest out because you’re doing really well. And now we can talk about what you’re doing because you are doing it more often than not. So well done.”

It’s high praise for a star who could be lining up for Arsenal one day, though it seems unlikely in the January transfer window.
