Arsenal think they can sign £66m striker by copying Liverpool’s bargain Federico Chiesa strategy

Arsenal are always keeping an eye on bargain deals on the market.

The Gunners have shown in recent years that they aren’t afraid to splash big money if they think the player is worth it – just look at how Edu Gaspar signed Declan Rice.

However, it’s not wise or sustainable to keep spending huge cash. There are plenty of players available for a not-so-extravagant fee, and Arsenal have signed many of them in recent years.

In 2025, the Gunners could do it again by taking some inspiration from Liverpool.

Arsenal eye bargain Dusan Vlahovic transfer in 2025

It is no secret at this point that Arsenal need to sign a new striker.

The Gunners have a solid attack and Kai Havertz has done a tremendous job up front. However, he isn’t someone who will score 20 or 25 goals a season.

That is what Arsenal need right now to comfortably pip Manchester City to the Premier League title, and the expectation is that they will sign a new striker in 2025.

Rudy Galetti has revealed on TeamTalk that the North Londoners are keeping an eye on Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.

The Gunners have been interested in signing the former Fiorentina man for a long time, but Vlahovic rejected Arsenal when they tried to get him to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The report claims that Arteta and Edu are ‘planning a move’ to sign Vlahovic when he enters the final year of his contract at Juventus next year.

It has been revealed that talks over an extension between the player and the Italian club are at a standstill, which could open the door for an exit in 2025.

Arsenal have a total of five players on their striker shortlist, but Vlahovic is the one who fits the profile they are looking for – a prolific goalscorer who will guarantee more than 20 goals a season.

Arsenal could use Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa strategy to sign Vlahovic

If there was an award for the most impressive bargain signing of the summer, Liverpool would’ve probably won it.

The Reds managed to strike a deal to sign Federico Chiesa from Juventus for just £10 million (BBC). That is an outrageous deal considering how good a player the Italian is.

Arsenal reportedly believe that ‘Vlahovic’s situation will evolve like that of Chiesa’ once he enters the final year of his contract in July 2025.

It has further been revealed that ‘the Gunners are certain that they could take advantage of Vlahovic’s situation and sign him for much lower than the £66.6 million price tag Juventus set in the summer’.

Vlahovic will definitely not be available for £10 million like Chiesa was, but with 12 months left on his deal next year, we’re sure there is a bargain to be struck.
