Bayern Munich are keen on signing an Arsenal star who has been made available this summer.

According to Flashscore, the German champions want Gabriel Martinelli but are currently valuing him at around £35-40million.

Andrea Berta, though, has little interest in entertaining offers at that level. Martinelli is under contract until 2027, with an option to extend by a further year, giving the Gunners a decent amount of leverage in any negotiations.

Atletico Madrid and PSG are also said to be interested, but Bayern’s admiration appears to be the most concrete at this stage.

However, there is clearly a significant gap between what interested clubs are willing to pay and what Arsenal consider fair value for a wide forward who is proven at the very top level.

When you look elsewhere, at Savinho’s proposed £60million move to Tottenham, for example, the Gunners are well justified to demand more than £40million.

Savinho is only two years younger than Martinelli, and unlike the Premier League winner, isn’t deemed good enough to make Carlo Ancelotti’s World Cup squad for Brazil.

This summer feels like the right time for Arsenal to sell Gabriel Martinelli

There is a growing acceptance within Arsenal that Martinelli could depart should the right offer arrive.

The Gunners need to make way for any incomings by selling some of their assets, with Morgan Rogers being the primary target.

A deal for winger Jeremy Monga is expected to be completed, after the Leicester teenager had agreed personal terms with Arsenal.

The club have also been linked with Marcus Rashford and Nico Williams as potential left wing additions.

All this talk points to an exit for Martinelli, and it feels like the right time for that to happen.

The 24-year-old is one of three players to have already been an Arsenal first-team player before Mikel Arteta arrived, and has made 278 appearances during his seven years in north London, scoring 62 goals.

Martinelli is currently focused on the World Cup with Brazil, alongside Gunners teammate Gabriel Magalhaes.

The pair play their first game of the tournament on Saturday against Morocco, and a strong showing from Martinelli would only increase his number of suitors.
