Arsenal could have been handed a significant transfer boost from the most unlikely of sources.

Edu and Mikel Arteta’s focus will be on making the necessary changes to the squad before transfer deadline day.

The Gunners have until Friday night to lock down their squad for the remainder of the year, with movement expected this week.

While many will be focused on potential arrivals, a lot of Arsenal’s business will be in the form of departures as several players’ futures are under the microscope.

Chelsea might have just handed Arsenal a transfer boost with Aaron Ramsdale

One player who is almost certain to leave the Emirates before deadline day is Aaron Ramsdale, with several clubs said to be eyeing the goalkeeper.

The Englishman has fallen out of favour with Arteta since the arrival of David Raya, who seems to be getting better and better in an Arsenal shirt.

One of the club’s said to have enquired about Ramsdale is Wolves, who could be about to up their pursuit of the 26-year-old after Sunday afternoon’s result.

Chelsea thrashed Gary O’Neil’s side 6-2 at Molineux, in a fixture where Jose Sa was heavily criticised for a series of mishaps between the sticks.

As a result, Wolves could up their desire to sign Ramsdale, who seems likely to leave Arsenal on a loan with an obligation to buy this summer.

If Sa’s display against Chelsea encourages Wolves to explore a deal for Ramsdale, then it could end up being thanks to Arsenal’s London rivals that the £120k-a-week shot-stopper leaves the club.

Arsenal have to end the Ramsdale transfer saga quickly

Ramsdale has been linked to several clubs this window however, it looks most likely that either Wolves or Ajax will secure his signature thus far.

Bournemouth were credited with interest however, the Cherries are now closing in on signing Chelsea ‘keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Wolves will have been alerted to their need to sign a competitor to Sa after their defeat to Chelsea, which is something for Arsenal to monitor over the week ahead.

What is most important is that Ramsdale is offloaded promptly, with both the player and the club needing a resolution to be identified to move away from the saga over his future.
