Arsenal set firm Aaron Ramsdale transfer condition after Edu faced with Joan Garcia development

Arsenal could be very busy in the final days of this summer transfer window.

With Transfer Deadline Day arriving on Friday, time is running out for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar to complete the remaining business that they hope to conduct.

Mikel Merino will join Arsenal very soon, as his switch from Real Sociedad is all but completed. Beyond the arrival of the Spanish midfielder, though, nothing is even close to certain when it comes to incomings or outgoings from the Emirates Stadium.

Four Arsenal players could still leave, with Hale End academy duo Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah amongst that quartet.

Nketiah could join Nottingham Forest, whilst Jakub Kiwior may also be moved on. The Poland international will find game time harder to come by in North London following the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori and is wanted by clubs in Italy.

Finally, there are doubts about the future of Aaron Ramsdale. The goalkeeper is very much the second choice pick between the stick behind David Raya now, and may be keen to force an exit in order to secure regular game time elsewhere.

Arsenal set clear stance on Aaron Ramsdale

There has been plenty of interest in Ramsdale so far this summer, and the Gunners are open to letting the England international go, but only if certain demands are met.

As reported by The Mirror, the North London club are insistent that an obligation to buy clause is included in any loan agreement taking him away from the club this summer.

This is due to the fact that, whether it be this summer or with the promise of payment a year from now, Arsenal need Ramsdale’s exit to largely pay for his own replacement.

Arsenal receive Joan Garcia warning

The Gunners already know who they want to replace Ramsdale with. Arsenal have lined up Joan Garcia, with the Espanyol shot-stopper deemed the ideal candidate to step into Rasmdale’s shoes and offer back up to Raya.

However, as per the aforementioned report, whilst agreeing personal terms with the 23-year-old ought to be straightforward, there are other elements of the deal that may give Edu cause for concern.

For instance, the Spanish side aren’t intending to let the shot-stopper go for a cut price. Instead, they will insist that the North London outfit trigger his £25.4 million release clause.

On top of that, Liverpool could hijack Arsenal’s move for Garcia.
