The summer transfer window is still a few months away, but Arsenal are working to get deals over the line already.

David Ornstein has shared some good news for Arsenal fans regarding one of their key targets.

What Arsenal are ‘internally’ saying about Martin Zubimendi transfer

Martin Zubimendi has been on Arsenal’s radar for a long, long time.

The Gunners have tried to sign the Spaniard in the past, but he always chose to stay at Real Sociedad. Zubimendi even rejected Liverpool last summer.

However, the feeling within the industry is that Zubimendi has agreed to join Arsenal before the start of next season.

Reports have claimed that even Real Sociedad think Zubimendi will be moving to Arsenal once the summer transfer window opens.

Ornstein has now backed that claim, and he has revealed that people inside Arsenal believe it is a ‘done deal’ already.

He told NBC Sports: “They will be adding to their midfield with the arrival of Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad.

“Arsenal are acting internally as if that is a done deal.”

Zubimendi’s arrival, if it does happen, would be brilliant for Arsenal.

A number of top clubs across Europe have been keen to sign the ‘world-class‘ midfielder in recent years, and the Gunners look like they will win the race for his signature now.

Ornstein revealed in the same video that Jorginho is expected to leave Arsenal this summer, but the stance has changed on another midfielder.

Arsenal want to keep Thomas Partey at the club now, and talks are set to take place between the two parties over a contract extension in the coming weeks.

It remains to be seen how that will transpire.
