Arsenal are expected to prioritise signing a new left winger this summer.
Both Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli have struggled for consistency this season, which has created a clear need for an upgrade in that position.
Several names have been linked with a move to the Gunners, but none are as exciting as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is one of the best wingers in the world.
Arsenal fans would love to sign the Georgian, but David Ornstein has poured cold water on any hopes of a deal.
Would Khvicha Kvaratskhelia be your dream Arsenal signing… If not, who do you want to see the Gunners sign?
David Ornstein shares bad news for Arsenal fans about Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Kvaratskhelia has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks.
The Paris Saint-Germain star would represent a significant upgrade on Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, and he could completely transform Arsenal’s forward line.
That is why the Gunners’ reported interest in him has generated so much excitement.
However, if Ornstein is to be believed, Arsenal don’t stand a chance of signing Kvaratskhelia, nor do any other club.
The journalist said in a Q&A on The Athletic: “Everyone loves Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but I fully expect him to stay at PSG. He seems extremely happy there, and they are certainly extremely happy with him.
“I don’t think Arsenal or anyone else has a chance at the moment.”

Arsenal must prepare alternatives to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Kvaratskhelia was always going to be a difficult signing to pull off.
The former Napoli man only joined PSG just over a year ago, which meant convincing them to sell would have been extremely challenging.
Arsenal should still keep an eye on the situation in case anything changes, but they cannot afford to rely on Kvaratskhelia as their only target.
Imagine you are Andrea Berta. Who is your top target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window?
A new left winger is a priority, and Andrea Berta needs to look at several other options.
One interesting alternative could be Kvaratskhelia’s PSG teammate Bradley Barcola, who has also been linked with a move to Arsenal.
The Frenchman is not quite on the Georgian’s level, but we think he would be a fine signing for the Gunners if it could be done.
