Eddie Nketiah’s future at Arsenal is currently up in the air.
Arsenal are planning to offload some players before the closure of the summer transfer window.
Whilst Mikel Arteta is keen to make further additions to his squad, there is also a need to clear the decks somewhat at the Emirates Stadium.
Four Arsenal players could leave in the coming days and weeks, including Eddie Nketiah.
The Hale End academy graduate has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal and is clearly not a big part of Arteta’s plans. At this stage in his career, the 25-year-old needs to be playing regular football.
The once-capped England international has made 168 first team appearances for the Gunners, and has had some amazing moments in an Arsenal shirt, but he has never been able to establish himself as the club’s first choice striker.
Nketiah has the quality to thrive as a key player in the Premier League, albeit perhaps not for a club chasing the title. As such, a move is now exactly what he needs. However, his own personal terms may well cause an issue when it comes to getting a deal over the line.

Eddie Nketiah personal terms risk Nottingham Forest deal
Nottingham Forest are pushing to sign Nketiah. A switch to the City Ground would make a lot of sense from the player’s perspective too, as he would stand a great chance of establishing himself as a regular starter there.
However, according to talkSPORT, Nketiah’s own personal demands now threaten to blow up the deal. The forward earns £120,000-per-week at the Emirates Stadium, and will not take a pay cut to join Nottingham Forest.
As such, Nottingham Forest will have to make the Arsenal man their highest-paid player in order to get a deal for the Arsenal man over the line.
This could ultimately lead to Arsenal having to lower their own asking price for the player in order to make the deal viable for the buying club.
Should Arsenal keep Eddie Nketiah?
Whilst Arsenal have been in the market for a new striker this summer, they have been so far unable to strengthen in that part of the pitch.
As such, Arteta only has Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus vying to lead the line. It could be that, if they let Nketiah go and don’t adequately replace him, that they find they struggle with a lack of depth up front when the fixture schedule becomes more hectic.
