Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal face a potential transfer hijack from rivals Manchester United in the coming weeks.

It comes as the Gunners look to bolster their ranks, with plenty of different players rumoured to move in and out of the club.

Arsenal are battling on many fronts as a result, with Mikel Arteta hopeful of adding attacking firepower, while plenty of defenders have been linked with exits.

The North Londoners are working in the background to keep some of their best Hale End academy talent as well, though Manchester United offer a fresh threat for one star.

Fabrizio Romano reveals Man United join race for Arsenal youngster Ayden Heaven

Ayden Heaven has been one of the youngsters in the Arsenal academy who has been backed for a big future at the club.

The defender has made a handful of first-team squads over the season so far, with but his deal is dwindling.

Arsenal Insider understands that Arsenal have offered a new contract to Heaven, but it currently remains unsigned.

Eintracht Frankfurt have been heavily linked with Heaven, while Barcelona have been another side eyeing a potential deal.

The options widen even further as Fabrizio Romano reveals that Ayden Heaven is being chased by Manchester United.

The Red Devils are claimed to be “leading the race” to sign the 18-year-old, adding another potential suitor for the young defender.

It remains to be seen exactly which option Heaven is likely to pick in the weeks and perhaps months ahead.

What Arteta said about Ayden Heaven after Arsenal vs Man United match

Heaven has had some time under Mikel Arteta so far, having featured in the pre-season match against Manchester United last summer.

The Arsenal youngster made a mistake in the match, but still received plenty of praise from the manager on his display.

“Very impressive,” he told the press. “At 17, I don’t know how many players are able to do that on a stage like this.

“He’s lost a duel against one of the strongest and fastest players in the world, it can happen, but the reaction afterwards, the composure, the quality, the body language that he had were all remarkable. I’m really happy with him.”

Whether he will go on to make more appearances for Arsenal remains to be seen, but plenty of teams are queueing up for his signature.
