Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Arsenal’s plans for the January transfer window.
The hard work does not stop for Andrea Berta, who, after putting together an impressive summer window, is preparing for January.
Arsenal have been linked to several forwards heading into the winter, one of whom is Rodrygo.
Rodrygo was heavily linked to Arsenal during the summer but opted to remain at Real Madrid, and now, Los Blancos are open to parting ways with the winger.
Now that the Gunners have learned Rodrygo is for sale, transfer speculation is on the rise again, but just how likely is a move?

Fabrizio Romano sets the record straight on Rodrygo to Arsenal transfer rumour
Fabrizio Romano has been on hand to set the record straight on his YouTube channel.
The renowned transfer expert mentioned both Arsenal and Chelsea’s reported interest in Rodrygo, but took the chance to share that neither club are pushing for a move.
What would your dream Arsenal front three look like in 2026/27? 🧐
“The reports on the future of Rodrygo, 0% about Chelsea. Forget about Rodrygo and Chelsea. We keep having that kind of rumours,” Romano said.
“There is nothing for January also about Arsenal. That story is not true. Arsenal are not working on a deal for Rodrygo in the January transfer window.”
As per Romano’s update, the chances of the Brazilian making the move to the Premier League in January are unlikely.
For Arsenal, not signing Rodrygo might be good news, as the winger hasn’t scored for Real Madrid since March.
Rodrygo is more of a superstar than his Real Madrid form suggests
As it stands, a move for Rodrygo looks unlikely, but Berta shouldn’t cross the 24-year-old off his list entirely.
Rodrygo is considered one of the best at Real Madrid 😳
Xabi Alonso may not be getting the best out of the Brazil international, but that doesn’t mean that he’s no longer valuable.
Any player with 122 goal contributions for Real Madrid by the age of 24 is a head-turner, with the issue seemingly being one of confidence and lack of clarity regarding his role.
Given Arsenal’s current options on the left side, there’s no doubt that Rodrygo could raise the standard at the Emirates if he were to be considered by Berta once again.
