Arsenal and Manchester City’s interest in signing Tino Livramento has surfaced, but Fabrizio Romano has revealed that one club’s intentions are not as clear as some make out.
Newcastle are open to letting Livramento go for the right price, with that fee being above the region of £60m.
The news followed reports stating that Arsenal are targeting Livramento ahead of the summer transfer window, joining Man City as an interested party.
Given that the 23-year-old is reluctant to sign a new deal at Newcastle, with his current contract expiring in 2028, a deal could be considered straightforward on paper, but that’s not the case.

Fabrizio Romano’s Tino Livramento to Arsenal transfer update
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano shared what he understands about Arsenal’s interest in Livramento thus far.
Romano expects that ‘Arsenal will be busy’ on adding in several positions in the summer, including right-back, midfield and attack.
He then confirmed that Livramento is a right-back on Arsenal’s radar, adding that reports suggesting that the Englishman is close to joining Man City are false.
“They [Arsenal] are aware of the situation, and the situation is that Livramento, despite reports already in the last three, four days of a deal close with Manchester City, is not the right back Manchester City are signing.”
Romano acknowledged that City wanted to sign Livramento in the summer, but since then, ‘the deal is in complete standby’.
So, Man City are not as hot on Livramento’s trail as some suggest, with Arsenal’s and other clubs’ interest one to watch.
“He remains one to watch for sure ahead of the summer transfer window, but not at the moment,” Romano said, clarifying that no deal is close.
There are better options for Arsenal than Livramento
The best way to determine if a player will be a good fit for the Premier League is if they’ve played in the Premier League.
Should Tino Livramento’s injury history put Arsenal off signing him?
It’s essentially why there’s ridiculous inflation around transfer prices when Premier League clubs deal with other Premier League clubs.
It’s also why, in this case, Arsenal should be assessing other options aside from Livramento, who is priced beyond £60m, way beyond his market value.
Livramento is a top player and has a huge future, but he wouldn’t be a guaranteed starter at Arsenal with Jurrien Timber considered, so spending big makes little sense.
His injury concerns are another thing to delve into, as are the other options on Arsenal’s radar, who could be as efficient at a far lower cost.
