Tino Livramento is now likely to leave Newcastle United in the summer transfer window amid building interest from Manchester City and Arsenal.

Arsenal have been looking at right-backs ahead of the summer in a bid to restructure the position.

It surely means that Ben White is likely to leave Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta already working on reinforcements.

One option is Livramento, who has been linked to the Gunners amid uncertainties around his future at Newcastle, with a reported reluctance to sign a new deal.

As the Englishman continues to turn Arsenal and Man City’s heads, Newcastle have now come to a decision about what’s in store for the 23-year-old.

Newcastle are open to selling Tino Livramento amid Arsenal interest

With speculation growing, TEAMtalk have revealed that Newcastle are now open to letting Livramento leave.

It’s understood that ‘intermediaries have been briefed’ about the right-back’s pending availability, giving Arsenal motivation to further explore a deal.

While Newcastle have made their stance known, it’s simultaneously understood that Newcastle are not ‘pushing Livramento out the door’, but rather have signalled that offers will be considered.

There are problems that will concern Arsenal, one being that Man City are very interested, and the other being that the Magpies expect a fee in excess of £60m.

It’s a high price for a player whose market value, according to Transfermarkt, sits around the £35m mark.

Livramento’s price tag needs adjusting

There’s no doubt that Livramento is a superb right-back, but what needs to be taken into account with his value is his injury record.

Should Tino Livramento’s injury history put Arsenal off signing him?

Arsenal already have two full-backs who cannot be relied upon due to fitness: White and Riccardo Calafiori; thus, adding another to the list seems rather redundant.

This season, Livramento has missed 27 matches due to various injuries, one being his hamstring, which is notoriously tricky to navigate.

Signing Livramento would be a risk that offers high reward, but Arsenal have to make the deal work for them, with a price tag exceeding £60m being incredibly high for a player whose availability is not guaranteed.
