Arsenal are unlikely to launch a bid to sign Ivan Toney in the upcoming January transfer window.
According to TeamTalk, Arsenal are keen to sign Ivan Toney in the summer of 2024, making a January approach for the Brentford man highly doubtful.
If Arsenal were to try to sign Toney in the winter window, he certainly wouldn’t come to the Emirates Stadium cheaply. As reported by Sky Sports, the Bees have slapped a £100 million price tag on the 27-year-old forward.
Having spent heavily in the recent summer, including spending a club-record fee of £105 million to prise Declan Rice away from West Ham United, it would likely be a struggle for the north London club to meet Brentford’s financial demands in the winter window. They would certainly have to sell players in order to fund a move for Toney.

Ivan Toney tipped to fire Arsenal to title triumph
Many feel that Toney is worth pushing the boat out for, though, especially given the size of the prize on the line. Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes Arsenal need to sign Toney if they are to stand a chance of overhauling Manchester City and winning the Premier League title this season.
Mikel Arteta may well feel he already has enough firepower in his squad to make Arsenal competitive in the title race this season. However, if Gabriel Jesus’ fitness issues do not abate, then the Spanish coach will surely need to bring reinforcements into his attacking contingent sooner rather than later.
Despite Toney’s obvious quality, it is hard to imagine any club matching Brentford’s current valuation of the once-capped England man. Even in the summer, Arsenal would be wise to seriously consider some alternative options before opting to shell out £100 million to bring Toney into the fold. There are surely more attractive options available in that price range.
