Arsenal are expected to overhaul their attacking ranks this summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta’s side can go to the next level if they upgrade on the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, who scored a combined seven Premier League goals.

Arsenal have looked at Rafael Leao from AC Milan, although those rumours seem to have gone quiet recently.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is also being linked to the Emirates Stadium, but he would cost a substantial fee.

Hansi Flick really rates Arsenal target Ferran Torres

It has recently been reported that Arsenal are exploring a deal to sign Ferran Torres from Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window.

Torres worked with Arteta at Manchester City, so clearly, he’s been a long-term admirer of the versatile attacker.

Barca manager Hansi Flick has publicly praised the 26-year-old on numerous occasions and labelled him a clinical finisher last year.

“Ferran is a player who never stops working for the team,” Flick stated.

“His ability to find space, press aggressively, and finish clinically is what makes him so valuable.”

That profile of forward is the exact type Arteta looks for in his teams, so it’s hardly surprising to see the Gunners showing an interest.

Torres would be a notable upgrade on Trossard and Martinelli, as he’s netted an impressive 21 goals for Barcelona this season.

The 55-cap Spain international also has a prolific record with his national team, so it’s a no-brainer really.

Barca paid £47m for Torres’ signature in 2021, so they’ll be keen to recoup that fee and perhaps make a small profit on top of it.
