Arsenal have been linked with a January move for Wolves winger Pedro Neto, but they may have been handed a blow as he has admitted he is happy at Molineux.

The 23-year-old has been linked, with Mikel Arteta seemingly keen to add speedy depth to his wing options. Neto could be the ideal rotational option for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Neto has started the season superbly, with one goal and six assists in nine games, and Arsenal were also keen on him a year ago.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Neto claimed that despite the links with Arsenal, he is happy to stay at Wolves beyond the January window.

“I want to say that I am here and I will help everyone,” he stated.

“I love the club and everybody here, I have always felt that it has given a lot to me.

“I’m enjoying the moment here so I will continue to do that. The future and long-term ambitions don’t matter. We will never go down in any situation, we are here to win and fight. I feel really good at the moment and hope to continue.”

The Telegraph have also reported that Wolves have no plans to sell Neto in January, following a summer in which a number of key players, including captain Ruben Neves, departed.

Despite Arsenal’s strong interest, it does seem that a January move for the £50k-per-week star is almost certainly now off the cards.

Whilst nothing can be ruled out, it would take a serious turnaround for Wolves to sell the player, and it seems that Neto will not attempt to force a move away.

Mikel Arteta can either find an internal solution, with Reiss Nelson itching for more game time and Amario Cozier-Duberry waiting in the academy, or find an alternative in the January window if he is keen on an immediate reinforcement.

Arsenal have been linked with Galatasaray winger Kerem Akturkoglu, and the 24-year-old could be a cheaper, and more viable alternative in the winter window.
