There are currently question marks surrounding Eddie Nketiah’s future at Arsenal.
Eddie Nketiah has been on the books at Arsenal since 2015, when he joined the North London club’s Hale End academy system as a teenager, having been cut loose by Chelsea.
The forward has since gone on to make 168 first team appearances for the Gunners, across all competitions, scoring 38 goals. Nketiah has enjoyed some magic moments in an Arsenal shirt, and has provided some vital goals.
However, the striker is clearly not a central figure in Mikel Arteta’s plans. The 25-year-old slipped down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium last season, and was afforded only a bit-part role in the squad in the second half of the campaign.
Nketiah now wants to leave Arsenal, and for good reason. At this stage in his career, the once-capped England international needs to be playing regular football, and he won’t be granted the opportunity to do so for the Gunners.
A number of clubs have shown an interest in the attacker this summer, but as yet no exit opportunity has come to fruition. Nottingham Forest are pushing to sign Nketiah as things stand, but their latest actions could see that deal fall through too.

Nottingham Forest cast doubt on Eddie Nketiah’s Arsenal exit
Arsenal want another sale of the kind that saw Emile Smith Rowe leave the club earlier this summer, in order to offset their planned spending on Mikel Merino. Offloading Nketiah, therefore, would be an ideal outcome for Arteta.
However, as reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X, Nottingham Forest have now launched a move to secure the services of another striker, suggesting that landing Nketiah may not be their priority after all.
Romano revealed that Nottingham Forest have made a £25 million offer for Feyenoord star Santiago Gimenez.
Whilst Nketiah is still on their shortlist, if they get a deal for the Eredivisie ace over the line then they will surely forget all about the Arsenal man.
Arsenal fans frustrated by Nketiah situation
Nketiah’s wages have proved a problem when it comes to offloading him this summer, and as things stand Arsenal are set to continue paying him throughout the upcoming season.
Many fans of the North London club on X feel that the entire situation surrounding the striker has been mismanaged.
One said: “We should have just accepted €25m. If we are stuck with Nketiah at the end of the window it’s an absolute disaster.”
